The work included the relocation of a 6600/415V, 1000kVA transformer together with its associated distribution board into a new substation, the extension of an existing earthing grid, modifications to the H.V. feeder panel and other miscellaneous work. tender evaluation, preparation of contract documents and construction phase supervision also included.

Supervisory work working with a team of electricians to identify and safely isolate 1000+ cables entering the defunct control tower prior to its demolition.

Field investigations to prepare as-built electrical schematic and termination diagrams for the merchant mill’s finishing end PLC, main air compressor, reheat furnace instrument cubicle and reheat furnace main fan.

Duties Various projects "as builting" of electrical drawings including drawings for Orebody 29, In-Pit Waste Crusher, Stacker No.2, and Benefication Plant at BHPIO’s Mt. Newman minesite. Preparation of marked-up drawings for contractors to perform modification work. All of the above work involved a total of 24 weeks spent on site at Mt. Newman.

Produce schematic diagrams, termination diagrams, panel G.A’s and PLC configuration diagrams for the work involved in converting the entire No.2 Crushing System from relay panel control to PLC control. The work involved extensive site investigations into the existing cabling installations in order that the new PLC control panels would accommodate connection to the same with the minimum of on site problems.
